STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER AND BUILD SOMETHING

Boston's famous Citgo sign, a 60-foot square, double-sided display featuring the Citgo logo has been a prominent fixture overlooking Kenmore Square in Boston since its installation in 1940. I've always admired its visual power — and also wanted to explore ways to use it.

Collaborating with Master Carpenter Steve Bamberry, we've crafted scale models of the Citgo sign, rethinking its iconic design to create original mixed-media artworks.

Each sign weighs ten pounds and it feels really good to design something that I can touch. I also like the smell of paint and the memories it can bring.
