IN THE FUTURE EVERYONE WILL BE ANONYMOUS FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES

Handy Warhol
Work in progress 2025

I consider it not a parody but a tribute — Warhol was one of the greats. An evolved illustrator that went so far into left field it changed art forever. We shared an elevator once in 1986 not long before he died. He smelled like cotton candy.
With a little help from AI, Handy Warhol is a spokesman character I inhabit using a $20 wig to promote a recent collection of my own artwork as if it were Warhol's latest. However, becoming him as a character begs a complex question.

Q: As an artist, how does "New Warhol"
navigate his digital world in 2025?

My Warhol character visited a movie theater, a bar, and a restaurant on weekend nights. No doubt the cel phones came out and I was photographed by patrons. This creates two avenues of study:
The New Artwork

Warhol explored themes of photography, celebrity, identity and consumerism, among others. What is the 'Campbell's Soup' symbology of today and who are the real celebrities when print is too slow to keep up with tik-tok?
Warhol vs. The Digital landscape

If Warhol returned today, how would he employ or exploit technology? Would he still live in New York producing artwork in another factory environment — or would digital tech free him from the studio and take his ideas global with a mouse click?
