BOSTON (June 18, 2025) – A Norfolk County jury delivered a sweeping verdict in the retrial of Karen Read, acquitting her of second‑degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene in the January 2022 death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe. After more than 22 hours of deliberations, jurors cited conflicting forensic evidence and allegations of investigative misconduct.
